Publication Ethics
International Journal of Computer Communication and Information Systems adheres strictly to the highest ethical standards in all its publication process. We are dedicated to ensuring integrity, transparency, and fairness in the dissemination of research. The journal adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines, which outline responsibilities for authors, editors, and reviewers.
For Authors
Authors are expected to adhere to the following ethical practices:
Original Research: Submissions must be the original work of the authors and free from plagiarism. Proper acknowledgment and citation of all sources are mandatory.
No Simultaneous Submissions: Manuscripts must not be submitted to or under review by another journal or publication simultaneously. Authors must disclose if the article contains content that overlaps with previously published work.
Authorship Criteria: Authorship should include only individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research and manuscript preparation. All contributors must be listed as authors or acknowledged appropriately.
Acknowledgment of Contributions: Financial support, institutional affiliations, or any other assistance must be disclosed in the acknowledgment section. Any potential conflicts of interest must be declared.
For Editors
Editors are pivotal in maintaining a fair, transparent, and ethical publication process. They must adhere to the following principles:
Unbiased Decision-Making: Editorial decisions are based solely on the quality, relevance, and originality of the article. Decisions must not be influenced by the authors’ nationality, ethnicity, gender, or institutional affiliations.
Confidentiality: Editors must maintain confidentiality regarding the submission and review process. Editors must not disclose information about a submitted manuscript outside the editorial and review team.
Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from processing articles where conflicts of interest exist.
For Reviewers
Reviews are critical to maintaining the journal’s quality and credibility. They are expected to follow these ethical guidelines:
Objective and Constructive Feedback: Reviews should be unbiased, focusing on the article’s content and scientific rigor. Feedback should be constructive, specific, and focused on improving the manuscript.
No Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest (financial, professional, or personal) and recuse themselves if necessary. They should not use or disclose unpublished material from the article for personal advantage.
Timely Review: Reviewers must respect deadlines and communicate promptly if additional time is needed.
Addressing Ethical Violations
IJCCIS takes ethical violations seriously and follows a systematic process to address them.
Plagiarism: All articles undergo plagiarism checks. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the journal’s threshold of 10% will be rejected.
Misconduct: Allegations of data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices will be thoroughly investigated. Confirmed violations may lead to manuscript rejection, retraction of published articles, and notification of the authors’ affiliated institutions.
Appeals and Complaints: Authors, reviewers, or readers may raise ethical concerns by contacting the editorial office. The editorial board will review all complaints and address them in a transparent and fair manner.
