Urban millennials are becoming increasingly vocal about environmental sustainability, but with their engagement in the circular economy being uneven, due to the absence of trust in brands' claims and inability to see practices along the lifecycles of products. Despite an increasing consciousness, numerous consumers do not link their buying to the environmental consequences because the brands fail most of the time to give real-time, verifiable information about sustainability. This trust deficiency leads to a lack of circular behaviors, including reuse, recycling, and conscious buying. To fill this gap, we develop a novel SustainabilityIntegrated Branding framework, which integrates real-time environmental metrics throughout the branding process, with the help of IoT lifecycle trackers and blockchain traceability. At the heart of this structure lies the EcoTrace algorithm that computes variable trust scores of products through user engagements, products’ sustainability metrics, and circular activities like recycling or resale. These scores would be presented for the user via a user-facing app designed for a millennial aesthetic, providing gamified feedback, badges related to sustainability, and real-time updates to environmental impact. To test the effectiveness of the framework, a multi-agent simulation with 10,000 urban millennials and 50,000 products tagged using the system of the IoT was performed during the 12-month virtual period. Results were found to be an increase in adoption of 52% in circular action, a 37% upward trend in brand engagement, with a conversion growth of more than 30% in sustainable purchase. As evidence comes out from the study, it indicates that integrating verifiable sustainability into branding not only promotes eco-conscious behavior but also increases trust and loyalty among consumers in the brand. This approach has a lot of potential towards scaling the participation of digitally native urban populations in the circular economy.
